Welcome to the website of NCLC-2016, the 23rd National Conference on Liquid Crystals, organized jointly by the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad and Indian Liquid Crystal Society (ILCS). ILCS, established in the year 1992, is a prestigious scientific society of India having more than 350 life members along with many annually subscribing institutional and student members. The National Conference on Liquid Crystals is held annually under the auspices of Indian Liquid Crystals Society in different parts of the country.

Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines)
Established in 1926, Indian School of Mines (ISM) is a fully residential institute with all the amenities of a world class academic centre. It has been upgraded as full fledged IIT and renamed as Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad by the Government of India in 2016. It is situated in the heart of the country’s prime coking coal belt, with a serene campus spread over an area of 393 acres, (with 218 acres of existing campus and 175 acres under acquisition and development). ISM is located in the City of Dhanbad, Jharkhand, 250 Km away from Kolkata on Howrah-New Delhi Grand Chord Railway route. The city is very well connected through Railways and road transport (NH2) to various parts of the country. Kolkata and Ranchi are two nearest international airports.
